PUREV Dolgorjav I Долгоржавын Пүрэв
Geboren 1958 in der Mongolei, ist Purev ein anerkannter mongolischer Künstler. Er kombiniert Symbole und Referenzen aus dem mongolischen Kulturraum mit tiefen, dunklen Farben und schafft so faszinierende, fast mystische Bildwelten. Portraits von Wölfen, Pferden und Frauen tauchen immer wieder in seinen Gemälden auf. Die Erfahrung mit der Unterdrückung von traditioneller mongolischer Kultur und althergebrachten Werten, beeinflusste sein künstlerisches Ausdrucksbedürfnis sehr stark. Beginnend mit der Ausstellung “Visualisation” ( UMA Art Gallery 2013) hielten auch hellere und wärmere Töne Einzug in seine Farbgebung, inspiriert durch intensive Meditation. Purev hat international in Russland, Korea und China ausgestellt, ebenso regelmäßig in der Mongolei. In 2006 wurde er vom Verband der Mongolischen Künstler (UMA) zum besten Künstler des Jahres gewählt.
Born 1958 in Mongolia, Purev is one of the leading and artists of his generation in Mongolia, known for his unique style and choice of colors. Infusing Mongolian symbolism with the harshness of mainly dark toned colors, he creates intriguing paintings full of mysteries. Portrayals of wolves, horses and women are frequent in his art. Having grown up during the socialist regime in Mongolia, the oppression of traditional Mongolian culture and values shaped his mind. Since his exhibition “Visualisation” at UMA Art Gallery in 2013, he has been working on a new series of works, showing a significant change in his approach. Warmer and softer tones replace his usual choice of color palette. He began to take interest in meditation, not necessarily as a personal lifestyle, but as a way to reflect on the meditative state of mind. He has exhibited his work in Russia, China, Korea and Mongolia. In 2006, the Union of Mongolian Artists UMA honored him with the Award for the Best Artist of the Year.
